IT'S TIME TO GO FISHING
I have been living in Georgia for over a year and I am starting to become acclimated to the weather patterns. It is now near the end of July and this July, like last July, is proving to be very hot and muggy. Last year the State of Georgia set a new record for hot days (when the weather was recorded over 90 degrees). This summer just might be close to last summer in sustained temperatures above 90 degrees. We have had more rain this year as compared to last year. Now that I have been living here for awhile, I think I will start doing some serious bank fishing. Since I do not own a boat and really do not care to get out on the water, I think I will find myself a nice lake, pull up a chair in the shade, put some bait on my line, cast it out into the water, and catch some fish.
Since I am supposed to be retired, I spend a lot of time monitoring my internet business, writing, doing yard work, keeping up with church work and the ministry that I am involved in, as well as spending quality time with my precious and lovely wife. Every now and then I still need a little bit of time to go fishing. Catching fish is not all that matters. I think the real important thing about going fishing is going fishing. A lot of people do not have hobbies and most of them continue to work themselves until they are frazzled. If you are interested in doing some old fashioned bank fishing, contact me and perhaps we can hook up. I heard that the catfish are really biting at Lake Lanier. Perhaps I will go there soon. By the way, I do not drink or smoke and I don't like profanity. I just want to spend some quiet time and hear myself think or listen to you if you are not an obsessive talker. Whenever I am fishing, I like to spend time praying and praising the Lord for His goodness and mercy. I like to carry my Bible along also, so that I can catch up on some good reading.
Before I moved to Georgia last year, I spent much of my spare time shooting pool with my buddies at the senior center. I have not even held my cue stick since I move here over a year ago. What's with that? Anyhow, I guess it's time to do some serious fishing. What is serious fishing? It's simply baiting the hook every now and then and casting it out into the water. Most of the time I find myself dozing off. Sometimes I might wake up with a fish on the end of the line. Or at other times, I wake up to realize that I am simply feeding the fish. Anyhow, I find this to be very relaxing and fun.
What's your hobby? What do you like to do to break the monotony of work? Do you exercise or read? I hope you have found your niche and I hope also that it is very rewarding for you. By the way, I would like to invite you to visit my website and let me know what you think about it. If there is anything there that interests you, please feel free to contact me. I am very excited about the new school of ministry that I will open in the Atlanta area in September. If you are interested in studying the Bible with me, please get in touch. Or if you would rather just go out and sit under a tree in the shade and feed the fish with me, let's do that. Please click here to see my website. Thanks for reading my article. May God bless you.
